Masters champion Adam Scott has set himself a gruelling home schedule after adding the Australian Open to his play list.
The national championship, at Royal Sydney Golf Club from November 28 to December 1, will cap off what is set to be a run of four tournaments in four weeks for Scott as he returns to celebrate the green jacket he won at Augusta National with home fans.
He will open the campaign at the Australian PGA Championship at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast - his hometown - from November 7-10.
He then defends his Australian Masters title the following week at Royal Melbourne the following week and is widely expected to represent Australia in the rich and revamped World Cup on the same course a week later before heading to Sydney for the Open.
World number four Scott won the Australian Open in 2009 and was keen to repeat that success.
"Winning the national Open is the title every Australian golfer wants," Scott said in a statement on Thursday.
"I am sure the Sydney sporting public will come in great numbers to support the event. I look forward to competing and celebrating with them during the week."
PGA of Australia chief executive Brian Thorburn said Scott's confirmation added to an already stellar field expected in the country this summer.
"We're confident a number of international players will stay on after the World Cup to compete in the Australian Open, making for the perfect finale to the Australian golf season," he said.
The Seven Network has confirmed it will broadcast the championship live across all four days.
